View from new buildingAfter a long, hot summer it’s been a rather soggy return to school but it is simply great to be back. As I stood on St George’s Road and directed students under the arch of our new building I was reminded – not that I had forgotten – of just how brilliant they are: polite, bubbly, enthusiastic and a joy to be around. In particular, I must say a big “well done” to our Year 7 students who have made a fantastic impression in their first week with us.

From Monday we have our Parent and Tutor evenings running and they are going to be a great opportunity for parents and carers to have the first face-to-face meeting of the year with key staff.

A reminder that the dates are:

Year 7                    Monday 12th September

Year 8                    Monday 19th September

Year 9                    Thursday 22nd September (this is a change to accommodate the Aachen trip departure)

Year 10                 Wednesday 14th September

Year 11                 Wednesday 21st September (this is also a change to accommodate the Aachen trip departure)

We would like to invite all parents and carers to the relevant evening and there is no need to book. Each evening will run from 6pm – 7pm and will start in the main hall with a short presentation from the Senior Leadership team and Head of Year. After this presentation there will be the opportunity to join your child’s form tutor in their tutor base to find out some more information and to ask any questions you may have.

If you have a child in the Sixth Form, you will also have received details about the information evenings on Tuesday 13th September for Year 13 and Thursday 15th September for Year 12 which are slightly different in format.

We very much look forward to seeing parents and carers at these events and look forward to an exciting year ahead.
