It was a pleasure to attend the annual Livery Academy Awards competition at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall on Monday with our intrepid team of Year 12 entrepreneurs. The team had been preparing for two months and performed very impressively indeed; they didn’t win but the experience is more about personal development and working together as a team than simply winning and they certainly did that. Very well done to them all and thank you to the Merchant Taylors’ Company for its organisation and hosting of the competition. As always, the Company’s support for Wallingford School is significant and appreciated.
Another body who provide significant support for our school is the Wallingford School Association and their very popular WSA Quiz Night is taking place on Friday 28th November. Entry details have been sent out through our social media channels and everyone is very welcome for what will be a very good - and very competitive - evening. (Sadly, this event has now been cancelled.)
Our Student Leadership Team launched this year’s Christmas appeal for the Wallingford Emergency Foodbank in assemblies last week. Again, further information will be communicated with deadlines for donations of festive and non-festive items. As in recent years, a donation is instead of cash for the privilege of wearing Christmas-themed non-uniform on the last day of term.
