Mr Marston with the School OfficersThis week I am handing over the Headteacher’s Message to our excellent group of Sixth Form Officers to explain the range of events they will be leading in school next week.

On the week commencing the 16th (next week), we, the school officers, are holding a series of fundraising events for a local homelessness charity called Aspire (www.aspireoxfordshire.org).  They focus not just on rehoming, but rehabilitating people in Oxfordshire, who find themselves on the streets. The work this charity undertakes is highly necessary and life-changing for those involved.

The students have been informed of the week’s plan, involving a variety of events including a cake sale, an art competition and a crossbar challenge, so everyone can get involved. The events will all require cash. Therefore, for students who would like to help, loose change will be needed – and remembered as we have a cashless school! The week will finish on a non-uniform day on the 20th; this holds a recommended donation of £1, but we understand that’s not easy for everyone and appreciate any help available. On the flip-side, if you would like to donate more than £1, we and Aspire, would be extremely grateful.

UPDATE 18th March: The non-uniform day will go ahead, but we will not be collecting any money. We plan to do so at some point in the future.
