La semaine dernière, nous avons participé à l’échange français à Grenoble. Une grande partie d’A Level French est la compréhension de la culture francophone, et il n’y a pas de meilleure façon de comprendre une culture que d’en faire partie. En ce moment, nous étudions le sujet d’éducation dans nos cours de français, donc c’était très utile de voir nous-mêmes ce qui se passe aux lycées français : nous avons pu participer aux cours qui nous a permis de comparer l’enseignement en France et en Angleterre. En plus, notre jour préféré du voyage a été l’excursion à Lyon : nous avons beaucoup aimé découvrir le Vieux Lyon et nous avons mangé les crêpes délicieuses. Pendant la semaine, nous avons aussi pu goûter la cuisine française, comme des cuisses de grenouille et des escargots stéréotypiques. Dans l’ensemble, nous avons vraiment profité du voyage, et nous avons hâte d’accueillir nos correspondants chez nous en mars.

Last week, we participated in the annual French exchange to Grenoble. A big part of A level French is the understanding of Francophone culture, and there’s no better way to understand a culture than to be a part of it. At the moment, we are studying the ‘Education’ topic in our French lessons, so it was very useful to see for ourselves what school is like for students in France: we were able to participate in lessons which allowed us to compare teaching in Britain and France. As well as this, our favourite day of the trip was the visit to Lyon: we really enjoyed exploring ‘Vieux Lyon’ and we ate some very nice crêpes in a Bouchon. At other points during the week, we were also able to try a range of exotic foods, such as the stereotypical frogs’ legs and snails! Overall, we all felt that we very much benefitted from the trip, and we are looking forward to welcoming our exchange partners to England in March.
